It was One of the 10 grand prize winners chosen to win the "e-Moto Metro High Performance Electric Scooter" sponsored by Foster's Wine Estates! Ten winners, were selected by Foster’s Wine Estates Americas Company from the top 250 highest scoring entries. Only 120 entered from 4 NW States. Their Family includes "Beringer", "Meridian Vineyards" and 'Chateau St Jean Sonoma." When I wrote this Blog, I was kinda wondering who else won, but, they had not posted the winners yet. Now they have! I am so glad they also picked the gal in second place, she is very deserving! But, I sent in my email first thing this morning since they wanted it by tomorrow. Boy, glad I checked it today! Usually I am not interested to use the computer on the weekends! A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that has supported me during this campaign on Brickfish.com! Including our little critters that have welcomed us into their home and who come visit me in the yard AND house. I have to watch the cats now since the third bird that flew into the house got caught by Bastet, our Russian Blue and feisty then ever cat! The huge Blue Cardinal was ok, but, I think Bastet was a little traumatized since she is an indoor cat! We picked out the Blue. or should I say "Papa" did. Mason is excited and I hope it is here while he is visiting. Both Mase and Sarah are excited and Papa is ecstatic!
We had a long talk with Mason about him taking the Scooter to College. It is going to cost a fortune to send it down and he wants to be able to take a bunch of things with him for his new apartment we also cannot afford to ship down, or give him money to buy. So, he is trading Papa for the car, and Papa is getting the Scooter.
This works out pretty good. We will save a ton of money on gas, Mason will be able to take down his bed, and enough stuff to furnish his apartment plus his bike. He will be riding the bike more then driving the car since he lives close enough to the school, so he won't be wasting money on gas, or parking fees, etc. Plus, he is looking forward to his road trip and seeing his Uncle and Grandmother since they live on the I-5 corridor, which is what he will be traveling on down to AZ. He won't have to pay for hotels, except for in Eugene. Too bad he does not know anyone there!
Papa says that quite a few people at the Port ride scooters to work already. But, none of those are electric. I told him it is time they break the "addiction to gas" and get electric and hopefully they will when they see his shiny new scooter. These days it is not the luxury car that you drive that makes you "all that" but, it is how "green" you are.

What is really awesome about this is that we can ride this around our critters and not worry about it harming their environment or being too noisey. One more thing to help our area here! I can imagine how nice and quiet it is. I picked the perfect place right around the corner where I will take a picture of it when it arrives. We are so excited about our first electric powered vehicle, we can hardly wait to get an electric car to fit us both! It only takes one step at a time and before you know it, our world will be so much better and healthier for it. WE DID IT GUYS!! So, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, EVERYONE for all the support you gave us. You all ROCK!

Right now we are trying to work on our garage sale and raise money for Mason and Leah's trips.

I have been very ill the last few weeks, hence, no blogs! Hopefully I will be better soon and get back to business and start posting my crafts. I am still also working on my Disability and have heard back from our Senator. I hope to be writing about this soon along with the statistics I found out about how they have doubled the amount of declining applicants, even though the amount of applicants that applied has only gone up by very few. Makes you wonder, especially after the billions that are suppose to be earmarked for SSDI. Well, more about that later.

Happy Papa's Day!!

Well, what a weekend for Papa!

I recieved 2 win notifications totaling over 3 grand, both for Papa!

I will post as soon as it is all official, don't want to jinx it, but, I bet most of you can guess what the big prize is since it was all because of YOU! And even though it was suppose to be going to Mason, he traded it to Papa for the car! Hmmm, the car is worth MUCH more! But, we can't ship it down to him or fit it in the car. So, we will keep it and save a TON of gas by Papa using it. He is totally excited, so is Mason now that he has a car to use!

So, a huge thanks to all of you for making Papa and Mason's weekend! I can only hope everyone elses is as wonderful as ours is turning out to be!

Mason punches his ticket to Nationals!

He has come so far from a little boy and having his hand into everything from Chess, video's, Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Baseball, bowling, Cello, Bass and Bass Guitar and other stuff, to finally running track in his last 2 years of high school.
BTW, I wanted Sharla to see these pictures of Mason, when he was a young boy! Wait till I start telling stories of the first time he started throwing us into a state of shock! That will be a long post...edited by Papa so I don't embarrass Mason! These pictures are so valuable when they get older, so be sure to have these and any videos kept safe. Believe me, you will need them for the High School Parent ads in the Year Books, as well as providing them to girlfriends and other friends and family when they do things that make you proud! Anyway, I am so happy I made it to the MPSF Championships to see him win. I so wish I could go and see him at Nationals and it IS KILLING ME knowing I won't be there to see how he does and embarrass him by crying and hugging and doing all that other stuff proud mama’s do. Yesterday I was having a fit waiting for Flotrack to post the video…and then when the video got cut off at the end…I almost had a heart attack…I swear my chest started to hurt! Thanks to the mom and dad of one of the other runners for providing their personal video to Flotrack so we could see the end. I recommend that you watch both..so that you can hear the announcers.
We were shocked...which is an understatement on his time of 1.47.76 when he called and told us after he ran! I am sure everyone was, including the announcers as well as coaches and all of Mason’s friends and supporters!
At the last chance races for indoor track in Aimes, Iowa, Mason broke his own record he set the week before in Seattle for ASU's fastest 800m run. As I told you in the blog before that record was set 24 years ago. His time now, puts him 2nd in the nation after Andrew Wheating who was a member of the 2008 Olympic team in Beijing!!!
He will now run in Texas with the fastest 800m indoor track runners in the nation, including Andrew Wheating, and Jacob Hernandez who has a time of 1.48.04 who won Nationals last year
. He has really thrown all of us for a loop with how he has shaved so much time off his high school times in the little time he has been at college and just in the 3 races he has run! I had a feeling once his Stress Fracture healed, with as well as he was running while injured, he would do very well. Imagine my surprise at HOW WELL!
There are a lot of people in the running community, here locally as well as his sister and my other friends all over the states, that are very excited as well as supporting him and wishing him well. GO WHATCOM!
I really want to thank Lori, Scott and Garrett for all their kind support by traveling to Seattle to cheer him on. So sorry Alex and Mason's other friends got stuck in the traffic and missed it. But, a huge thank you to Lori and family for being there not only for Mason, but, for us also!!
Now it is time for a prayer chain to help guide Mason as he embarks on this very important journey to Nationals that will at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas on Friday and Saturday this week!
I will be sure to make a post, but, just him going to Nationals is a HUGE honor! We will be so happy if he just makes it across the line! Again, thanks to all of you and please put in a good word to the Lord above for Mason to do his best at Nationals. BTW…yes…I balled like a baby when Mason called!!
