Happy Holidays! Delay in Posting the Great Divergence

SOOOOO Sorry for the delay in posting the next chapter in the Great Divergence. I do plan to do this soon.

That is one thing about having a couple of diseases. Crap happens!

We did adopt a new member to the family that is about 10 months old and FULL of UNBELIEVABLE ENERGY.  But, I knew when we got him that he would be a hand full and was willing to deal with it in order to help myself hopefully regain a lot of the strength I have lost in the last couple years.

After falling numersous times, I am still in it and he is sticking by me. When I do fall or have a problem, he comes running over to me to help and lick me till I am soaking wet!

It is obvious he has already been through training but, a condition of the adoption was that we attend more obediance classes. He is SO smart and quite the character! He knows just about all the commands and some that surprise us. But, like I said...he is SO ACTIVE.

He loves to run and will run next to me as I drive down the road in my mobility scooter. He is so good. We took him to a dog park this weekend and there must have been 30 dogs there. It is a HUGE fenced in place at one of our favorite lakes/Parks where Mason use to run all the time. Anyway, there were several Great Danes, Labs, Pit Bulls, even a small Chihuahua that stayed mostly in his mom's arms!

But, Pepper loved it and all the dogs. He can bolt like lightening and then stop on a dime. I guess Border Collies are good at that.  He would do that and the dogs chasing him would all fall over him since they could not just drop and stop like he could.

Because of the weather it was pretty muddy and any water puddle he would find...for some reason...he would plop right down into it! So, he got very muddy!! We decided to see if he would go in the lake to get the mud off, since we had a new bed in the back of the car....and we were amazed at how he just jumped in when we told him to "go get the ducks!" Looks like we will be spending a lot of time there, especially when the weather gets better.

He has really pushed me to the limit. I think I have fallen numerous times as well as having to make sure he is excersised all the time.  I am exhaused and in a LOT of pain but, I know that this will be good for me in the long run.

He loves to sit on the patio with me and watch all the deer. Everyday we get visitors as you have seen or read from other posts.  One was a huge Buck that was not scared of me or anything. I guess with those 4 points, he doesn't need to feel any fear!

I will post the next chapter very soon. Hopefully today or tomorrow. But, for now, enjoy the pictures!

The Deer have come down from the hills....

We have our favorite Doe that we try and make sure we give an apple too and make sure she gets grain and fresh water. She is solitary except for lately she has had a young Buck with her.
Something is different with her back left ankle. It has a huge round growth. She favors it only a little but, we wonder if it is a break that healed wrong or not. It does not seem to be growing.
She usually will lay on the front lawn and wait for Papa and I to come sit on the porch. Then she gets up and walks towards us. If I point for her to go somewhere, she will go that way. She waits for me to "roll" the apple to her. Doesn't like it if I just put it on the ground!
We are hoping next year she brings her fawn(s) by.
But, it seems this week we had a whole herd visit the yard. 3 first year fawns, 2 Does, a Buck and then Solly came by later. I tried to take some pictures of them all while they were eating the grains but, it was too dark.
So I did my best to lighten up the photos. One of the fawns was pretty brave and would walk right up to me. Then there was a Male fawn...don't know what you call them! But, he was cute with his little bumps on the top of his head. He sured showed his smarts though when the adults, (teaching the kids how to be aggressive when hunting down food) were chasing off the fawns while they ate. The young buck came around the house and charged them from the front and scared off both Does and the Buck...it was funny. He got to munch down untill the older deer figured it out.
I am still trying to get pictures of all the different birds and other critters but, they are hard unless I have the camera at all times. I really enjoy sitting out and watching and interacting with them all. Funny how they start to understand ya and even talk to ya, letting me know what they are needing.
Enjoy! Oh, and the cat is a Tom that loves to visit. Ashly does not like him.
But, he is a real lover. He also has fangs that hang out like a lion!
We named this stray Tom "Morris". Careful of those fangs!
Loves the cat nip bag!

You can see the young buck way to the left.
I couldn't get a picture with all 7 Deer together.

You can see the swollen left ankle on Solly.
Named after "Solitare" Think she is about 2.

Some Pictures for Kait

Kait

I know you wanted to see some pictures of Mason as a kid. Here are the ones we posted in his year book.  I have others I have to still scan. You should see some of the old video's. Guess you will have to wait to see those.

This one is my favorite when he was older.

Sharp looking in his robe.

I made his "Robin Hood" costume and his sisters
Maid Marion. They looked adorable together. I think
he was a Power Ranger the next year.

He was sickly as a baby from what the doc said was
a unformed esophagus. So he was always..always spewing
what ever he ate/drank. Then he just got all better and beefed up
in no time!

Yes, it has been a long time

It is almost like my knitting...for some reason, I put it down, right before summer and do not pick it up again till fall.

I guess this is how the blog has been. But, I think being so ill the last year has had a lot to do with it also.

I am hoping it gets better soon. But, if anyone wishes to talk with me about their diabetes, kids that have leaft the nest or anything else..let me know.  I will be back soon!

Gotta at least catch up on the kids...if they ever contact us again!

Congrats Michael!

My favorite quote from Michael is:

“The tragic irony here is that if she (the mother) had been more willing to accept the fact that he was suffering from a serious mental illness, it might have resulted in her not getting killed,"

after winning a landmark case against a man who beat his mother to death with a guitar. Rings very close to home since mental illness runs in our family. If it was not for the interferance of other people or the denial of my family,  not to mention the inability to have any control over it without having a LOT of money, maybe lives and relationships may not have been ruined.

Ritter taps three for new El Paso County judgeships

JOHN C. ENSSLIN

A city attorney, a public defender and a former prosecutor have been tapped for three new judgeships in the 4th Judicial District.

Gov. Bill Ritter’s office has not yet announced his choices for the two new District Court judges and one El Paso County Court judge.
However, sources have identified Colorado Springs Senior City Attorney Will Bain and Senior Deputy Public Defender Mike McHenry as Ritter’s choices for District Court. Former Chief Deputy District Attorney Doug Miles has been picked for county court.
The three judgeships were added to the 4th Judicial District by the state Legislature. The three new judges start in January.
Bain has been with the City Attorney’s Office since 2007. He previously served as a prosecutor with the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for 10 years. He prosecuted Timothy Nicholls, who was convicted along with his wife in the murder of their three children in a 2003 house fire.
Michael Paul McHenry has been a public defender since 1991. His specialties have been in mental health law, computer forensics and child witness testimony. Earlier this year, he defended Christopher Weiler, a Colorado Springs man who was found not guilty by reason of insanity on charges that he beat his mother to death with a guitar.
Douglas Joseph Miles has worked since July 2009 as western region attorney/advisor for Aequitas, a prosecution resource on violence against women established by the U.S. Justice Department. He previously served as a chief deputy district attorney for the 4th Judicial District, overseeing prosecutors in county court

The whole family wishes you well in your new adventure. We know you will do well.

My Wins from 24Savvy, Thanks Cindy!

I am pretty sure I told you all about my Win on 24/Savvy!
I was excited to win them so I could give them to my daughter Leah for her birthday. (It was kinda a bad day for her)
I asked them to send me large. In the rules they said they would send the closest size to what ever we list....that is a joke.
They sent me extra-small sizes of 0-2.
My favorite WBFF also won, since there are 50 winners and she put down small since she wears a size 0-2. Guess what sizes she got?
6-8!!!
So....I write to them...the is email below.
Basically they told me to send back ONE of the jackets.. then when I told them about the Black one, they said, send that one back too, and they would give me a WHOPPING 15% off of anything in their store!
The way they inform me, you would think they were actually doing something.....nice?! Uh, no!
By the rules stated, they could have just said, "Too bad, so sad"
But, no, they want the prize back and then want me to spend Money at their store! Uh, NOT going to happen.
When I won a Contest through Amtrak, and you all might remember reading about this.
The sponsors who I told:  I was aware of the rules and was willing to forfeit, were adament that "You are the winner and YOU will be taking a trip!!" And I did. They paid for the plane fare and rental van to carry my scooter so I could see my daughter and meet her new husbands family for the first time. Again, thank you so much to the lovely ladies that worked so hard to make it happen. They even extended the time I got to use it in by 3 months!
Then I come across this contest and site. OMGolly!
You know those kind of people or woman you see in the Movie, "Pretty Woman" with Julia Roberts and the Sales Ladies of the first store she went into and they said they don't have anything that would fit her, who were narcissistic, self absorbed opinionated, "its all about me", etc, etc type people you run across every once in a while?
LOL!! Well, each time they wrote, it was more and more revealing how not only were they not going to do anything, but, they wanted me to send the wins, (Jackets above) back, worth almost $400, and they would so generously offer me a WHOPPING 15% off at their website store!!!
Ok, if you don't see the narcissism and greed, and not LYAO, then I am sorry.  We come from a different world.

BTW, Thank you to Cindy, my WBFF, I am glad we could resolve our problems together. Thanks for Being there! You might want to scroll to the bottom which is the initial email that I recieved after notyfying them of the problems on their site. I did reply back after their last response, but, I don't want to print that. Might be rated a little "R" as far as being conservative goes. I had to try and see if there were more decent people out there like the ones I have written about before, especially for my daughter.
Here is my email and their response:

Start at the bottom, if you choose to read it. Just picture those two women in the shop in the movie "Pretty Woman"

Hi Michele,
We did not intend to mislead anyone and are disappointed that you feel this way, as we work very hard at making 24/Savvy a great experience for everyone involved. Please keep in mind that this a member-based, online community where we consider you a member and not a client.
The goal of 24/Savvy is to provide you with creative and inventive ways to live a smarter life. The weekly savvy giveaway is just one facet of the site that we provide as a perk.
You are welcome to send whichever blazer isn’t the correct size (or both) back in return for the 15% discount.
Please let us know if this is what you’d like to do.
Kind regards,
The 24/Savvy Team
24/Savvy

I am going to post this on several blogs and networks, it is too funny to be true as well as so cheap I am sure they won't believe me!

Funny how you only wanted ONE jacket back and not both....when the black was smaller then the silver!
No thanks. Fortunately, I found someone else...who needed size 0-2 but, got size 6-8 instead! So, you screwed more then one "client" and we have been able to fix it ourselves.
Thanks for nothing....absolutely nothing.

Dear savvy,

We appreciate your participation in our weekly giveaway. Occasionally our sponsor brands do not have all the sizes available to fulfill our orders. We fulfill on a first-come, first-served bases, so in the event we run out of your requested size, we send the next closest available size. In this particular instance the size difference is substantial. Our sponsor brand has given us the option of offering you the blazer in the available size (maybe you can give it to someone as a gift) or offering you a 15% discount on your purchase from www.apartstyle.com (good through September 30th). Should you choose to receive the 15% discount, we respectfully ask that you send back the sequined blazer.

We apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause. Please let us know as soon as possible if you prefer to receive the blazer or the 15% discount.
Thank you,

Yes, I guess being away from the world because of my disabilities has shielded me for a few years from dealing with people like this.
I usually find some wonderful people, and it is rare to come across websites or someone that dissapoints me because of their attitudes.

Michele Lee and Her Husband Greg, took our Vacation!

Her name is "Michele Lee", her husbands name is "Greg" and she took the vacation I have been wanting to take my family on for decades now. She is also an artist. She has some great Photo's to see.
Click on her link to see what I have been wanting for decades and actually planning for a year now.
My first and middle name that I use on my Face Book account is Michele Lee and Papa's name is Greg, and I use to live on Kauai and worked as a freelance artist for 3 comtetitors there.
This is my "Dream Vacation"
Kinda Freaky when I read it. It was like someone was walking in my shoes!
Now that I have been starting to plan this Dream Vacation for my family about a year ago, this post was a perfect reminder of how wonderful it is going to be. Loved her pictures and I can't wait to take some myself! Sarah, I KNOW will be taking pictures!
This is all I have ever wanted to do and take the family. I keep hoping an opening will come up over there...somewhere..... so Greg can get a job. I also know how much better I will get being in the wonderful air and the healing energy this land has.
I remember how little clothes I owned..LOL, but, I promise to get ones with more fabric this time around.
I am trying to make sure we get there, then, all I have to do is convince them to never leave! LOL!
Do you think this is being to greedy of me to plane such a trip?
I don't want the kids to have to pay, but, I am sure they will want money of their own. So, costs all in all, is what I worry about most. I want all the kids and friends to come. But, how much will it cost these days to take 3 kids, post college and then their husband and friends. I know I can get a beautiful home that has lofts, bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, lanai's for less the hotel and situated in a very nice place for about $1300 a week. Then there is the food costs and event costs. I would like to redo our vows. We had nothing for a wedding when we first got married. Just having the kids there would make it 3 times larger! But, in Kauai I know it will be more simpler. I would love to have a Luau. I need to find out how much that costs.
I know of lots of places to go for free, especially hiking back into the Napali Coast and Hanakapei...hope I am spelling it right...the Canyon, beaches. Doubt they have the water holes we use to go to in the middle of the cane fields. We had to climb out using the tree roots.
So, I wonder how much per person I should have for their food and fun. Then the wedding, Luau and emergencies of course. LOL!
Help is always appreciated. I want folks to go and never want to leave!
Here is another picure I found in my fav's.

Did I made you angry?

Did my recent post make you angry?
It should not have. If it did, then you are guilty for enabling or ignoring her illness or unwilling to accept it.
You don't have to deal with it or accept it.
All I ask if you are not willing to understand or accept it, then please step back. That is your choice.

Thanks to all those who have given us their prayers and support while we travel this rocky road!

Leah, Daughter, Sister, Friend

I saw this picture and thought that it was my daughter...

I cannot believe how life loves to throw us curve balls and usually it is 3 at a time! Each time the Good Lord always gets us through for a grand slam. But, it takes a lot of skill, focus and education not to get any strikes, or fouls! The first pitch, we have hit and it looks like a base run....the second, so far is a foul off into right field.

People want to blame me, or judge me as "Harsh" or even "abusive" when they don't have the facts, and just want to go on thinking I am such a terrible person. I MUST have made her that way, since I am a person that has been judged unworthy to be member of the inner circle decades ago. Even by friends and their parents, take pity on her and then realize they are patsy's because they are clueless of the facts! They believe what she is saying is true, not aware of the under lying manipulation due to her disorders.
Everything I do, to help her, people have no clue what is going down or what I am doing, and judge my actions by what they want to think is happening. And of course, they KNOW I am a horrible person, and have been nothing but a burden and unwelcome my entire life because of what I did or said. Or is it because I know so many “secrets” that others don’t want me to tell? So, I must be treating the daughter I love so much, with abuse. Gotta make me look bad to others, so others will look at me with discontent and make sure I am unwelcome for any type of explanation, much less any truth as to what I know and can prove to be true. Oh, yeah, lots of back stabbing and lies flying around, so what ever I say or do is not to be believed.

That is the thing about mental illness...no ones cares and will think that the person who is ill.....who seems so normal...... CAN control their decisions and know the consequences when in fact they can't.

It is like telling a paraplegic to get up and walk...duh...it is a medical impossibility unless there is a treatment that can make them walk. But, they have to STAY on the treatment and receive the therapy for life. Like a Diabetic I. They will ALWAYS need insulin, if they stop...they die.

Even if they do know about her illness, it is something, they do not know much about, or don’t want to know how to deal with it in order to help. To much trouble to deal with it and her.

Or, it gets to the point where it is too expensive because one, you cannot make them take their medicine or get treatment that will help them and two, pay attorneys and courts to grant you the power of guardianship so you can afford to put them in a treatment facility or provide them with the help and treatment she needs.

So, I am left, 3000 miles away from her, because clueless people, who wanted to help her, wanted to save her from all the abuse and hardship she was suffering from because of our actions or because of some other horrible story she made up so she could get out of Dodge, has made it so she is now in the deepest abyss of her life. They talked her into staying and then she ended up being forced to stay, after she was voted off the island.

I am too far away to do anything about it. Or at least keep her in check so it doesn’t get to far out of hand. At least when she was here, she only had money problems. Now, because of people that brought her to where she is now and did not have the "truth" or "resources" she needed to succeed, have pretty much judged her to be unworthy, irresponsible instead of getting her the help she needs. Such as the medications, doctor supervision and monitoring required for her illness. So, she is left alone to make it through when she does not have the ability to do it.

A mentally ill person does not recognize their illness, ever. She cannot determine that she needs help and a lot of times, was unable to get help because of no insurance or money to pay for the proper medications.

It is so easy to let her go and blame her for it, when she does something to hurt you or does something you turn your nose up at her and give you an excuse to not have to care or bother anymore. Something, that is irresponsible and illegal so, that makes her unworthy of your unconditional love and respect to where you are willing to get her the help she needs. Everyone just thinks she is in control and has the ability to determine right from wrong.

Wrong.

This is my daughter. I will always love her unconditionally and always be there to do what I can,( like I have been her WHOLE LIFE), to get the help she needs the best way I was taught by the professionals or educated by with books or other parents with the same problems. And if it does not meet with your approval, then, bugger off.

We are not here to meet your expectations, be the type of people you want us to be or act like in order to be worthy of your love, be included in your family, or friendship. We got along just fine when you were no where around and let us know we were not good enough to be a part of your lives.

Now, you think you were the ones rescued her, when all you did was start digging her grave. I hate to think it was done on purpose, to hurt me since I, and my family was threatened at one point. But, I would hate to think it is really all about me and some kind of stupid retaliation just because I would not let anyone get away with their scams, lies and threats. But, yet, everyone is a puppet to the grand master and follows their directions. And since Leah has been homeless and in the worst black abyss of her life, I have to wonder, since no one is doing what they need to do in order to help her get the help she needs, then they must have voted her off the island and are probably happy that they have finally been able to cause our family the distress they have tried to do and threatened to do for so many years. But, you have only wasted your time and money because we cannot be beaten down. You may have succeeded in making Leah’s life miserable and worse off, but, we are too strong and will overcome with our unconditional love for one another and answered prayers.

Leah is lucky, whether she realizes it now or not, that she has people that love her unconditionally, who will stay by her side now and forever even though she is stuck in a huge black hole of nothingness at the moment. To all the people that continue to judge her and I, when you have NO CLUE, just keep staying the hell away. That is what you do best.

And to those that are here with me, trying so hard, including her very good friend, who is living close to her now and can reach her, may the Lord bless you as we bless you so much for doing what ever you can. Even through all the pain we all are experienced in because of her uncontrollable actions, you are still there for her, unconditionally, and educated on what we have to do to keep trying to bring her back to the real world again. This is what family is, even when you are not related.

This picture, looks exactly like Leah and the way I have seen her, her whole life as she would always get dressed up for acting or just life. This would and could be her, the star she always wanted to be, with everyone loving her because of the great things she could give them.

It could happen, if only the clueless folks would step aside, quit feeling pity and being the patsy's, then tossin her to the curb and putting her on the "do not call list" when she does the things she cannot control.

She is like that paraplegic. She will never be able to walk without medical help and treatments required in order for her to stand and walk. She will always disappoint you and do things you won't approve of until she gets help. Only the people that love her and don't enable her will be able to give her what she needs, medically, emotionally. Not the people that swoop in to try and prove how wonderful they are by giving her what she wants to a point then throw her out when they don’t receive what they expect and then get sick of it or don't want to shell out any more money, time or emotions. Too much trouble, time expense..huh?

Thank you Steph, I am so blessed to have you there with Leah, this is going to prevent us from a strike out on this one. In the meantime...Enjoy the picture of "Leah" and what it means to me as far as how beautiful and talented she is, way deep down inside. I am sure she is screaming to get out but, is unable to find the way. We will do what we can to help her, find the way, no matter how hard even if it takes forever. Yeah...a bit too much make up on the Model...but, Leah would love to do this!! So HER!

Her and her cousin…look so much a like too! But, I don’t think someone working on another person’s teeth is going to be wearing as much make up! LOL!

Everyone’s prayers for Leah would be appreciated.

FINALLY!!

Yes, FINALLY!

I have finished organizing the topics into separate folders that are listed below my header so everyone can find their favorite subjects a lot easier!

will have home made crafts or home décor and garden items that have been restored or made from recycled materials. .
Crafts for sale or Barter

I am hoping to have quiltings, and other sewn clothes and projects, Handmade cards, jewelry, knitting, crocheting as well as paintings.

I want to create a place where people will have a one stop center to shop for their home and garden, some hot fashions for themselves and hopefully some great designer kids clothes!

I am searching for other crafters and artists that would also like to sell some of their crafts or art on consignment. If you are an artist working in any medium, I would be glad to talk to you about posting your items for sale.

Send me an email if you are interested in showing off your talents and want to make some money to by clicking on the “Contact Michele” button.

Keep you eyes open for the first items to hit the blog for sale soon. I will have a contest to kick off the opening of the “store”.

Just for fun will be for contests and giveaways that your can enter.

is going to be all about US. Plus some rants for those bad days/weeks and of course some strong opinions I am passionate about. Also I am going to talk about family and friends, and our quirks probably more then our any of our perfections. We are empty nesters and have kids in the other 3 corners of the states from where we are which is in the very corner of the PNW. It is full of adventures and pitfalls and even simultaneous crises moments we just recently had to endure! And then of course I have to keep everyone up to date on our renovations inside and outside of the house including updates on the gardens we are trying to fix up around the house. It is slow going with my disability, but, progress is being made! I don’t like to talk about my disability and illness but, you might here some rants about some of it. Especially the difficulties we have to go through with only one income, a kid in college, the red tape of the health care industry and insurance industry that can really send me on a rant!
Family Adventures

will of course be mostly all about our son who is on a scholarship at ASU. He is a very talented middle distance runner that won 2 consecutive State titles as well as breaking school, invitational, and district records while in high school. Then in his first year at ASU he was ranked as 2nd fastest in the nation. But, a couple illnesses last year and this year set him back a little. But, he still did wonderful the first part of the indoor season. We have some video’s we have yet to post of some races, including a special “Kick of the Week” and an interview put on by Flotrack at the MPSF’s in Seattle. It is a must see. So look out for that to get posted soon now that I have gotten things organized!
Sports and Videos

YEAH!!

Thanks Mason, my tech expert for helping me by setting up the new “Tabs” and showing me how to use them! You rock!

Thanks for hanging in there with me. I know there aren’t very many members, but, I do treasure all of you that have hung in there with me. It has been a very rough year, but, I am still keeping my New Years Resolution to "Keep the faith".  Even though I am moving slower then before, I am getting things done. I am still keeping the faith that this will be a good successful year!  I do hope I can provide some great items for you to see and buy or even custom order, let you know of some great contests that you can win, have some giveaways of my own, and provide some great stories of our adventures at being empty nesters, and have some totally cool videos of a phe-nom runner!

Testing, one, two, three

This is a test of 2cuhappy's blog site.  Please try to ignore the lack of technical knowledge I have, or at least don't laugh, as I keep trying to figure out how to do this!

Thank you!

I am Under Construction

Under Construction

In so MANY WAYS!

But, most important is that the Blog is getting ready for some real changes.  The wait is frustrating, and I am not known for my patience!  But, it must be done right!

A lot of other things we are trying to fix are also going on that are being delayed over and over again.  One is a surgery for my leg that I have been dealing with for over a year, hence the reason why I have not been blogging!

I have not given up yet and will try to give updates as we go.  This is the month I should be able to get the site in order to where it will fit everyones needs and have the contests I am anxious to start having!  Giving away prizes is the best part of having a blog.  It is like Christmas all year long!

So, HANG IN THERE!!

Rome was not built in a year...lol!
