Mason, Wins 800m MPSF Championships, and breaks 24 year old ASU Record!

Watch the interview with Mason on Runnerspace here:

More to come, but, here are the first links and pictures!

Some Pictures of Friends, Papa and Mason! Click on Pictures to enlarge them.

Edited to add pictures of the race. It was hard to get good pictures with the digital camera indoors with the lighting and the speed of the racers! I did the best I could but, expect better ones when I can take photos when he runs in the Outdoor Track and Field Season.

Going to the Races! Video's and Pictures!

First off, bear with me as I try to type this post with only one and a half hands! I am sure to be making lots of mistakes, but, you will get the idea that I am pretty much just bragging again!

Mason will be in Seattle again this weekend competing in the MPSF (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation)

I found an article on Trackshark.com in the Elite College and Professional track and Field News, results and Coverage. I am going to cut and paste if you don’t mind…easier! I will leave out all the other stuff, but, you can read the whole article here:
TrackShark

Championship season is upon the Arizona State University track and field program this weekend as the Sun Devils will travel to the University of Washington's Dempsey Indoor in Seattle for the 2009 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championships on Friday and Saturday. The Sun Devil women will be looking to capture their third MPSF title in a row while the men are in search of their first. Action opens at 12:30 p.m. PT on Friday with the women's weight throw and concludes with the women's pentathlon 800m run at 6:55 p.m. Saturday starts at 11 a.m. with four events and ends at 3 p.m. with the women's 4x400m. Washington's site, GoHuskies.com, will have live result updates throughout the Championships.

SOLID OPENERS Five Sun Devils opened their indoor seasons on the weekend of February 13-14 with times/marks that were good enough to qualify them for the NCAA meet. In Seattle at the Husky Classic, four runners earned provisional qualifying status, including two men in the 800m run and two women in the 5,000m run. The men included true freshman Mason McHenry (1:49.71) and sophomore Nectaly Barbosa (1:49.74) while the women included cross country All-Americans Jenna Kingma (16:19.69) and Ali Kielty (16:33.72). In College Station, Ryan Whiting opened his NCAA title defense in the shot put with an NCAA automatic mark of 19.71m (64-08.00).

GREAT START True freshman Mason McHenry made an impressive debut in a Sun Devil uniform in Seattle (Feb. 14) as he clocked a time of 1:49.71 in the 800m run to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Championships in his first collegiate race. His time ranks him 20th in the nation currently and also stands as the second-fastest time run in Sun Devil history.

MORE IN THE BOOKS Right behind McHenry in the 800m run in Seattle was Nectaly Barbosa, who ran 1:49.74, the 21st-best mark in the nation this year. The outdoor All-American in the event entered the season ranked No. 2 in ASU indoor history and even lowered that time, but will have to settle for No. 3 on the list for now with McHenry just 0.03 ahead of him.

We are praying he does well, but, know this is a LOT to expect for his second race ever competing in a Indoor Track. While he has always surprised us with his athletic prowess, we do not expect him to qualify this time. Though I do think he will at least come in the top 5. That is just me thinking he is all that! All your prayers are needed!

Here is a video of his last race for those of you that missed it. Don’t know how you could have since I have sent it to everyone I know and I think even to people I don’t know! Just click here:
Video Of Mason's 800m Race

Here are some pictures also that Nic sent to us. Mine…well did not come out very well. My arm is not working too well and I think My settings were a bit off. So, a huge “THANK YOU” to Nic for providing these great photos!

My Favorite Posts - Barking Mad Contest!

This is hard since I am down to using one arm and some of my other hand to type these days so bear with me. I really wanted you all to see my top favorite posts with video's and pictures and also, there is a method to my madness...enter to win a $250 GC From Barking Mad!
I am sure you all know which ones I would pick! They will definitly have to do with Mason's shocking success when he decided to quit Baseball in his Sophmore year, and run track.
My first is one of Mason's first races You will find it in the video bar on the left side. This was a video that was shown to the board at ASU which help Mason get 30% more in scholarship money. Plus it is just awesome to watch. Papa and I watch it almost weekly! This was the race that let us know he made the right decision when he decided to make the change.
My second was Mason's Picture on Front Page of our Local newspaper and the article was not even about him! I guess his face sells papers? Just like magizines that put George Cloony or Brad Pitt on the front to sell magazines.. in my dreams!
Third was Dreams Come true and Prayers are answered. It was a dramatic rollercoaster ride with obstacles that were popping up everywhere trying to keep Mason from going to College and our new home closing...but, we did it!
Then, number four is How scary was that? When we found out that Mason was running on a fractured leg, the last part of his season, but, still won State and broke records.
Then I have to say..my post Oh, so sore, but, Oh, So happy, has to be one of my top favs since this is when Papa and I bought the house that by the grace of god, we found, before we bought the other house that was much to costly and in very sad shape! It is truly a miracle on how we found it and we say everyday how much we love it. We will live here for the rest of our years and hopefully have the wonderful family reunions with the kids and grandkids in the years to come.
I am not the best writer, and still trying to find a path for my blog, but, I believe soon it will be what I want, which is to show off my crafts and art plus...keep everyone up to date on what my talented kids are doing. Wish me luck!
And don't forget to visit Barking Mad, she has a great website and is someone I think everyone can relate too!
Ok...it took a while but, I got it done..with one hand....I am good!

Mommie with Cents Giveaway

Click here: The Mommie with Cents , to visit and enter to win an eenamaria handbag designed by Sarah Morgan. You will need to visit the eenamaria handbags website and find the bag you like to add to the contest form. There are so many very classic styles and colors and it is hard to choose. I am not telling you what I picked...you will have to find one for yourself. But, I was able to find other bags by different designers and found a Kenneth Cole Messenger bag to die for. Anything Kenneth Cole, rocks my world. Also, her prices are extremely affordable and not out of this world like most designer bags. But, I bet she could get away with charging more...shhhhh...
Also, Sarah Morgan and "eenamaria donates 10% profit of every bag sold, to Stoked Mentoring – a nonprofit for at risk youths that aims to provide opportunity, knowledge, experience and determination through the implementation of sports programs. Additionally, Sarah has begun working with a charity offering microloans to women who own their own businesses in Rwanda. Sarah’s desire to give back and offer a life full of opportunity and experiences can be seen in her company and in all of her work." According to The Mommie with Cents.
Anyway, time to visit The Mommie with Cents site to enter the contest, find other ways to save money and get some great deals.
She even Has our local Grocery store listed on her site! It use to be a one small grocery store we lived across the street from and now I think they have spread out to 2 or 3 states. My favorite store ever! Every time I have taken someone in there for the first time they fall in love and have to have breakfast there everyday or just stop in to find something new! Not to mention, I have been going to this grocery store since it was a single store across the street 21 years ago and have had some very bad personal experiences where Haggens’ personnel came to my rescue. Once it was on Thanksgiving day when my sister had just died and I needed medication refilled and my regular pharmacy was closed. They refilled my script, and let me come back a week later to give them the new script and pay for it. How many pharmacies would do that? The hospital pharmacy…where I WORKED would not even do it!
Anyone that has Haggen's on their site, is a smart site and will get my attention!
Sometimes it takes a giveaway to find these sites, and I would like to share them with you when I do find them. This is one of them. if you get a chance to win something you want...it is a double bonus!
I know you want this bag....it is classic and it will be in style forever. It is a must have. So, go, enter and check out those deals!

Please vote for Kitty Cat and all her hard work!

You do not have to sign up or anything. But, leave a comment below the message so I know who you are. It took me a couple months to finally get Kitty cat to learn how to use the potty, and she was a real trooper when I kept moving her litter box closer to the commode, then inside the commode and then took away the litter. She got the hint very easily! It is worth watching, even if you don't vote. It is not like I am going to win a huge prize! But, I think it will make you all smile! I am also posting the video to the site..if I can for all of you that do not want to go through the trouble. I am not a desperate woman for these kinds of contests.
Look soon for my post on Mason's first Division one race!

Last Day for Dream Home Giveaway!!

Enter from the box at the top of the page! It is the last day and I want everyone to have a chance!

Betty's Belts Win, with a SURPRISE!

I am extremely tickled to have gotten my win from Betty’s Belts!
It is really nice to win the globe, but, that is not as fun as the Lariet and Bracelet that Donna sent for my monthly win! I can actually have FUN with this one!
And the big surprise!! I was only expeciting to get the Sula Lariet in turquoise, but, she also sent the matching bracelet I was in love with! Thank you! Thank You!

Gotta visit her site for some great down to earth bling!.
You know I don’t spend money on myself unless it is a need since I don’t work any longer, so when she sent the one thing I adored, I was ecstatic! It is nice to be able to wear the Lariat as a belt, choker, scarf, necklace, but, to have the cool bracelet to go with is even better!
Watch out…Hippie chick is stylin! It has been a while!
Thanks to Donna at Betty’s Belts. You all should stop by, I am sure you will find a few things you will like and then enter for her monthly giveaway. She rocks!
I could only find the bracelt in Black...but, just imagine it in a Turquiose! BEEEUUUTAHFULLL!

1 World Globe WIN!

I recieved my WIN from:
I told you in my other post that I had won one of their Gemstone Globes. Well, I got it!

It looks like it was damaged a tiny bit during transit, but, it is not big enough to take away from the beauty. It is just a small chip at the top from the axis bar getting shoved into the Globe.

But, seeing it in person and how BIG it is, made me gasp. I was not expecting it to look so huge and the gemstones are captivating to look at! Especially the Jades and Mother of Pearl.

So, here are some pictures. If you want to see other products they have, click on the picture above. They don't have anymore like mine...just in a smaller version. But, they do have a contest that runs quarterly where you can win a prize. Sorry, it looks like the prize they have now is a small globe, only 4 inches. Mine is 13 inches...HUGE!

Click on the pictures to enlarge them.
It stands what seems to be 2 ft tall, but, is only about a foot and a half.
